About Me

I've been messing around android and web technologies since my early days of undergraduate studies when android gingerbread was new in business and responsive grid was just introduced. I had a good time working on both platforms.

I grew up in Badlapur, MH and completed undergraduate studies from University of Mumbai. I'm currenly pursuing master's studies in Computer and Information Sciences at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

I'm working with Dr. Koop as Research Assistant at UMass Dartmouth. Goal of this research is to study effective ways of capturing provenance in web based data visualizations. For this purpose I'm writing a JavaScript framework that not only captures a provenance but also allow users to navigate between states, import and export provenance. This framework works very well with popular visualization frameworks like d3.js, dc.js and vega. Research paper is coming out soon !!

In Summer'15 I had an opportunity to work with Global Aquaculture Alliance and Preferred Freezer Services as a Data Science Intern. Goal of this project was to provide a comprehensive picture of the aquaculture industry in four key areas: feed production, hatcheries, farming, and processing; focusing on 7-8 different fish species. If world of aquaculture or data science is of any interest to you, read on about the project.
